Protege Chattanooga Accepting Applications for Its 2013-2014 Class

Protégé Chattanooga, a team-based mentor program for emerging leaders, is currently accepting applications for its 2013-2014 class.  A collaboration between the Young Professionals Association of Chattanooga (YPAC) and the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce, Protégé Chattanooga is the first program of its kind in Chattanooga.

Vice President of Public Strategies at the Chattanooga Chamber, Rob Bradham, said, “Protégé Chattanooga has been a highly successful partnership between YPAC and the Chattanooga Chamber.” He added, “With the inaugural class soon to graduate, the Chamber is excited to begin the second class and connect more of our future leaders with experienced, knowledgeable mentors.”

The program will be held within a 9-month period beginning with an orientation in August. Details about the program are available here.

YPAC President Cara Hicks said, “YPAC’s mission is creating opportunities that allow young professionals to connect and grow into the future leaders of Chattanooga.” She added, “The Protégé Chattanooga program is designed to meet the expressed needs of young professionals who are seeking mentor relationships.”  

Protégé Chattanooga candidates should hold active YPAC memberships and can apply online until Friday, May 17, 2013. Mentors for the 2013-14 class are currently being finalized and will be announced soon.

2013 YP Award Winners Announced

The Young Professionals Association of Chattanooga (YPAC) proudly announces the winners of its 2013 YP Awards. In its sixth year, the YP Awards recognize notable young professionals and young professional friendly businesses and organizations in the greater Chattanooga area.

Ted Alling, co-founder and CEO of Access America Transport, was the keynote speaker at this year’s event, which took place on Friday, February 22, from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m., at the DoubleTree Hotel downtown. Lattimore Black Morgan & Cain was the luncheon’s headline sponsor.

Over 200 people gathered to honor the young professionals and businesses that were selected as finalists and to hear Alling’s presentation, which applauded Chattanoogans for investing in their community and encouraged attendees to press forward with the momentum that has already been established in order to take Chattanooga to “the next level.”

YPAC Accepting Nominations for Its 6th Annual YP Awards

The Young Professionals Association of Chattanooga (YPAC) is accepting nominations for its 2013 YP Awards. In its sixth year, the YP Awards recognize notable young professionals and YP friendly businesses and organizations in the greater Chattanooga area. The event, which is open to the public, will be held in place of YPAC’s monthly business development luncheon from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Friday, February 22, 2013, at the DoubleTree Hotel downtown.

This year’s categories are Young Professional of the Year, YP-Friendly Business of the Year, YP Artist of the Year, YP Entrepreneur of the Year and the YP Civic Impact Award. Beginning Friday, January 11, the public is invited to nominate any young professional, business or organization for a YP Award.

Free Meter Parking Announced for Holidays

The Chattanooga Parking Authority has announced downtown parking meters will not be

The Christmas season is upon us, and YPAC is proud to partner with Northside Neighborhood House in offering a Christmas toy drive that will take place through December 13, 2012. Any one who attends a YPAC event - including the November after hours and luncheon and December 13 Christmas Party, is invited to bring toys, crafts, books, games and other children's items to support the Northside Neighborhood House Christmas 2012 program.

Henderson Hutcherson and McCullough is 2012 Rivalry Cup at Baylor Champion

Henderson Hutcherson and McCullough, a local accounting firm in the heart of downtown Chattanooga, took home the title of 2012 champion of the Rivalry Cup at Baylor, an annual charity kickball tournament hosted by the Young Professionals Association of Chattanooga (YPAC).
